Elementary Programs![]() Peter and the Wolf Approximately 6,500 first-grade students in 90 schools experience Prokofiev's classic work "Peter and the Wolf" each year. Information packets containing classroom activities are sent to each first grade teacher so they can prepare their students. Specially trained docents from the NMSO Guild visit each first grade classroom for interactive presentations of "Peter and The Wolf". This is a fun and educational way to introduce young children to the magic of music. It is also a wonderful partnership between NMSG and APS. Ensemble Program Youth Concerts The NMSO and Albuquerque Public Schools send written and audio materials to all fourth and fifth grade teachers in advance of these concerts so they can prepare their students. These materials are connected to New Mexico state education standards and allow teachers to integrate the music into regular classroom activities and combine several academic disciplines. 5th Grade Youth Concerts will be on October 11, 12 & 13, 2006 at 10:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.
