Debussy, Chopin, Ravel… France’s greatest composers meet on the Symphony stage. From the atmospheric La Mer to the romantic Chopin Piano Concerto No. 1, as performed by Alberto Nosé, winner of the 2005 Paloma O’Shea Santander International Piano Competition.”The most complete, ripest artist was the Italian, Alberto Nosé. In stage two he gave an exceptionally perceptive performance of Debussy’s L’Isle joyeuse, which appeared out of the blue and climaxed effulgently, its cinematic non-sequiturs captured brilliantly on the way. Nosé was equally responsive to the grand narrative of Chopin’s Third Sonata and wonderfully ardent and capricious in Scriabin’s Fifth.” Adrian Jack, The Independent, London
